Legends Of Kaigon
Carebear N00b
A New Adventure
The days began to blur together, and each town seemed the same. The ridicule and mockery followed me now to the point where I felt no reason to inform the people of the coming dangers. They'd all heard of my stories before I even arrived, and had formed their own opinions based off stretched truths. I'd been the topic of many conversations in many towns and without any information besides rumors and inacurrate accounts of my visits from other towns I couldn't possibly be taken serious in my mission to save my people anymore.
Dude, that's not cool. Of COURSE I care. But there's more pressing issues at hand right now. I have to put my own petty wants and desires aside so I can focus on helping all of mankind!
So anyway, back to my point: The Children of Ispar had chosen to ignore my warnings of their impending doom.
What the hell is wrong with you?? My storyline will be great. It just has to build up.
Speaking of which…
I decided that the only way to convince the people of Dereth that there was indeed a threat coming, that I had to learn more ABOUT this threat. The ghost spoke of a 'Death Walker', and one of the whispers I'd heard had hinted that he'd been here before. I decided to check with one of the Lore Masters to see if perhaps there was any mention of him in their books.
But that was too far away so I just ran to Arwic instead.
When I arrived, however, I discovered that Arwic had seen some remodelling since I'd last arrived here. It looked as though the residents were preparing for another possible invasion, and were building a new Fort Teth.
Can't say as I blame them, however, after the huge floating city that blew their last town to pieces.
Although I fail to see how taller walls surrounding the city would protect them from a Spire shooting fire from above…
I decided it might be a good opportunity to speak with the people in charge, in case maybe they knew something of the coming dangers. It sure looked as though they were preparing for something.
It turns out that the new incarnation of Arwic, unbeknownst to almost everyone (cause they're too busy talking about how crazy I am), is run by one of the Oldest and arguably the Wisest of all Isparians upon Dereth.
I was directed to his chambers.
As I entered the Hall of Orticus, several thoughts were running through my head. What if he had never heard of the 'Death Walker'? If he has heard of him, would he tell me? Would he help me spread the word that he has returned to Dereth?
And if he's so wise, why aren't there any guards guarding him? I could walk right up to him and kill him right now.
Granted, he'd go right back to the lifestone, but I bet he'd have some uber loot! Pre patch even!
I told my tale to Lord Orticus. I told him of how I went to talk to my master, and how I found my poor cow dead, and how I didn't have any hair back then but suddenly I have hair now, about how I couldn't find him so I fell asleep instead of looking for him, and how some ghost showed up and said "Children of Ispar" without actually speaking to anymore than one child.
When I mentioned the name 'Death Walker', I swear I saw his eyes spark, if only for a second, but he didn't interupt my tale, so I kept going.
When I finished, he had this to say:
Actually, no…
But he DID tell me that he didn't know what I was talking about.
I thanked him for his kindness and exited his fine establishment.
Lord Orticus was even kind enough to have his guards help me find my way back out of his city.
Yeah. Like I'd want to come back there after this humiliating exit.
They must think I'm crazy or something.
